Pool Schedule

Pool Sched May 28 2024

This schedule will go into effect on Tuesday, May 28th. It includes the summer swim team practices and swim lessons.

We are tentatively planning to close the current pool on July 6th for renovations. This closure is planned for 1 month. However, construction and renovation schedules tend to be flexible, so please feel free to call us before coming in to ensure the pool/sauna/hot tub is open.

Infrared Saunas

The Beatrice YMCA has two infrared saunas! Both of these are located on our pool deck and open for members over the age of 18 to use. These saunas are open any time the pool is open. Check the pool schedule above for a complete pool schedule.

Interested in Private/Semi-Private Swimming Lessons? Email Donna at [email protected]. She will then send you a Google Form with some questions about the participant/s. Once this has been submitted, Donna will find an instructor that is best suited to the participant’s needs. Please be patient as this may take up to 2 weeks. If you are doing semi-private lessons, please be sure to let us know who the other participant is as we will not assign one for you. When the instructor has made contact with you and the lessons have been scheduled, it will be your responsibility to stop at the front desk to pay for the lessons.

Cost: (all packages include 5 lessons)

  • Private member – $60 / non-member – $70
  • Semi-Private member $53 / non-member $58

Beatrice YMCA Receives 2024 Grant Funding From USA Swimming Foundation

Grant supports efforts to offer free or reduced-cost swim lessons

The Beatrice YMCA was chosen as one of 124 youth programs from the USA Swimming Foundation’s nationwide network of swim lesson providers to receive grant money in 2024. The grant award will go toward our Aquatics Department’s continued efforts to provide free swim lessons to all local 2nd-grade students. More specifically, this money will assist with offering specialized lessons to those with special needs or needing one-on-one assistance. This year, the USA Swimming Foundation has awarded a total of $780,000 in its initial round of funding to programs across the country.

Because drowning is one of the leading causes of death in children, the Beatrice YMCA has been offering every 2nd-grade student free swim lessons during the school day. This school year we were excited to expand this to both of the parochial schools in our community, bringing the number of children impacted to approximately 150! The schools also play a huge role in this outreach; everything from getting permission forms signed to busing the kids to the Y does not go unnoticed!

The USA Swimming Foundation vetted more than 400 applications through a competitive annual review process and chose 124 youth and 38 adult programs to receive funding.

“The USA Swimming Foundation is proud to continue providing Learn-to-Swim opportunities at the local level for both adults and youth,” said USA Swimming Foundation Executive Director Elaine Calip. “With the excitement surrounding U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming and the Olympic Games, we anticipate an increased interest in our sport. We are thrilled to continue our partnership with lesson providers nationwide to keep kids and adults safe in and around the water.”

Millions of individuals have received the lifesaving gift of swim lessons through the USA Swimming Foundation’s network of swim lesson providers, comprised of more than 1,500 qualified lesson providers across the nation. To learn more, visit www.usaswimming.org/foundation.
