Policies

Insurance
The Beatrice Mary Family YMCA does not carry accident insurance for members or program participants, nor is it responsible for any items lost on the premises. All members, guests, or program participants using the YMCA do so at their own risk.

Card Scanning & Identification
Due to the need for statistical data and security, we ask that you scan your membership card at the Service Center on arrival. Presentation of your card will be required for use of the facility or class attendance.

Payment
Membership may be paid annually (in full) or by monthly bank draft. Memberships paid in full will not be refunded. The bank draft allows for membership cancellation with a 30-day written statement after a minimum of a one-year commitment.

Payment for classes is due in full at registration. The YMCA accepts cash, checks, and MasterCard, Visa, & Discover credit cards.

Program Credits & Refunds
The Beatrice  Mary Family YMCA reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, members will receive a full refund.

No Refunds will be given unless the YMCA cancels the program or class

Before the session begins an individual may cancel their class and request a class credit.

OTHER INFORMATION

  • RENTALS:
    The YMCA is available for you to rent for your parties, family reunions, church groups, post-prom parties, and much more. The rental includes the use of the swimming pool, downstairs locker rooms, front lobby, basketball, and racquetball court. The upstairs and Wellness Center are not included in the rental. Contact a director for more information.
  • LAP LANE SWIM:
    One lap lane is available at all times except during high school and Y swim team practices. The lap lane is available to those 18 years of age and older. The lap lane is for lap swimming only. There are other occasions during some swim classes when the instructor will request no swimming in the lap lane.

At the Beatrice YMCA, we actively promote the value of being kind to ensure individual differences and diversity are celebrated. These values reflect those that are expected of both our staff and members. The Beatrice YMCA is a place where every person has the right to be themselves and be treated with respect and dignity in a safe and happy environment. There will be repercussions for individuals in violation of this policy.

YMCA Bullying Policy

OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this policy is to communicate to all employees and members that Beatrice YMCA will not in any instance tolerate bullying behavior. Individuals in violation of this policy will be disciplined, up to and including termination of employment/membership.

DEFINITION

Beatrice YMCA defines bullying as the health-harming mistreatment of one or more people by one or more perpetrators. It is abusive conduct that includes:

  1. Threatening, humiliating, coercing, or intimidating behaviors
  2. Work interference/sabotage that prevents work from getting done
  3. Verbal, physical, and/or social abuse intending to cause harm

EXAMPLES

Beatrice YMCA considers the following behavior examples of bullying but is not limited to the ones defined.

  1. Verbal bullying- name-calling, ridiculing, insulting, or abusive/offensive remarks
  2. Physical bullying- pushing, shoving, poking, tripping, kicking, assault or threat of assault
  3. Gesture bullying- nonverbal gestures that can convey threatening messages
  4. Exclusion bullying- socially or physically excluding or disregarding a person

*Individual employees who feel they have experienced bullying should report this to their supervisor or to Human Resources. Individual members who feel they have experienced bullying should report to the CEO before the conduct becomes severe or pervasive.  All employees and members are strongly encouraged to report any bullying conduct that they experience or witness as soon as possible to allow the Beatrice YMCA to take appropriate action.
